About Us
Working together to end Cancer of Unknown Primary.

The Stroud Foundation was established in honor of Lee Ann Stroud, who passed away from Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) in August 2008, at the age of 56.  During her eight month battle, Lee Ann exemplified what it meant to be a giving person- even while facing the most challenging of circumstances.  Her family decided to honor Lee Ann’s “pay-it-forward” attitude by helping to put an end to CUP, so that cancer patients and doctors alike can work toward an accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Julie Hargesheimer – Founder, Director
Julie@stroudcup.org
Julie is the oldest daughter of Lee Ann Stroud, for whom The Stroud Foundation was established.  Having owned her own business, Julie was able to take on the role of caregiver during her mom’s battle with cancer and temporarily moved back home to be with her.  Julie and her siblings attended every doctor appointment and made critical decisions together as a family.  During this time, Julie learned about CUP and decided to honor her mother by sharing her story.  Julie resides in Bedford, Indiana with her husband and two children.
